Is this only for people who code?
No. AssistVault is designed for documents, spreadsheets, presentations, research and everyday project work, as well as coding. Start with the kind of work you already do.
Which Mac do I need?
The closed beta is for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 14 or later. A model connection needs internet access. Native computer-control tools require macOS 27 and your Screen Recording and Accessibility permissions. Other optional tools may need additional setup.
What is OpenRouter, and why do I need a key?
OpenRouter connects you to models from different providers. You create your own account and API key, add it inside AssistVault, and pay OpenRouter for model usage. You do not need to send us your key. Model availability, capabilities and quality vary.
Does everything stay on my Mac?
Your app workspace and files are stored locally. When you ask an online model to work, the context needed for that task is sent through OpenRouter to the selected provider. Enabled tools can also communicate with their services. AssistVault is not an offline language model.
Can I choose how much my assistants spend?
Yes. Set a shared monthly limit and a limit for each task. AssistVault reserves for requests before sending them and shows reported charges and uncertain reservations. These are local app controls; they do not cap charges from other apps, external services or your entire OpenRouter account.
What does “lifetime” include?
The planned lifetime offer means continued use of the version covered by your license, with one year of app updates included. Model usage remains separate. Final licensing, update and support terms will be published before paid checkout opens.
Can it work while my Mac is switched off?
No. Work runs on your Mac, so the Mac needs to be awake and the app needs to be open. Telegram integration is being developed for phone notifications, task requests and limited approvals; it does not turn AssistVault into an always-on cloud computer.
How does the beta work?
We’re starting with a small group of 10–30 testers. Apply below and tell us what you want to try. Invitations include installation guidance and a 7-day trial license. Your own OpenRouter usage is separate. We’ll ask for honest feedback before the paid launch.
